Communication Objectives

  • Inform audience of Hey Lola's one-of-a-kind boutique that sells beautiful vintage clothing and imaginative, hand-made jewelry. 
  • Hey Lola creates customizable jewelry that fits your unique style. 

Target Audience

We are targeting women from ages 18-35 that are local to the Peoria area. The target audience enjoys dressing up and uses clothing and jewelry as a way to express herself and does so by shopping at local stores. She has a middle to upper class status and enjoys communicating through social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter.  

Big Idea

Some thread, a link, beads and a stone, each a character with a story you’ll own.

Creative Concept

In these ads, I liked the idea that Hey Lola creates her own works of art with their hand-made jewelry. As you'll see in the following direct mail ad, I invite the target audience down to the Hey Lola shop by sending them "gallery postcards." By playing off of the idea that the jewelry are art pieces, it almost looks like an invite to a gallery viewing.
In the remaining ads, I emphasize the uniqueness of the items sold at the shop and how they are a way to express yourself. Like in the Facebook ad, I depict that Hey Lola's items are one-of-a-kind, just like you are. 

Print Ad - Copy Light: Direct mail gallery postcards

Visual: Post card showing various jewelry pieces from Hey Lola on one side, similar to how an art gallery post card would show the individual's artwork. Headline and body shown on the other side of the card.

Headline: Hand crafted works of art for sale at Hey Lola boutique!

Body: Located at 933 Sheridan Road in Peoria and open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 12:00 PM-5:30 PM. Bring this post card into Hey Lola and get 20% off one item!

Magazine Ad

Appearance: Outer edges made to look like the frame to a mirror, a woman’s reflection is shown in the mirror, but she is out of focus except for her Hey Lola necklace she is wearing, text overlapping the reflection.

Location: In The Peorian. A new, local Peoria magazine that is said to be “heavy on the arts.”

Out of Home Ad - Mirror

Appearance: The mirror will be framed so it looks like a piece that would be hung in a gallery.  This will play on the idea that Hey Lola sells handcrafted works of art.

Locations: Popular shopping centers like the Northwoods mall.

Headline: You are your own work of art

Subhead: Shop at Hey Lola and add to your masterpiece!

Body:  Win a 20% off coupon by taking a mirror “selfie,” posting it on Instagram and tagging @LoveHeyLola, and by coming into the shop and showing us your photo!

Online/ Social/ Direct Response Ad - Facebook post

Visual: Attached photo of two girls wearing the exact same outfit, with annoyed expressions.

Headline: Because “twinning” just isn’t your style.

Body: Come visit Hey Lola for your casual to formal fashion needs! Look through Hey Lola's vintage clothing and handmade jewelry and find what a look that tells your story.  Located on 933 Sheridan Road in Peoria, we're sure to help you create your one-of-a-kind look.
